ABOUT ME |
|
I've been sewing for about 8 years now. I started out just hemming my pants (I'm a shortie) using my mom's old Kenmore. I was introduced to Phish, fell in love with all the colorful patchwork at the shows, then started heading in that direction... I've had a lot of fun making patchwork and festival clothes, but I've also grown a lot and feel that my art is taking a new turn. I've been really inerested in retro and vintage clothing. Recreating these designs or Reforming already made clothes. So, stay tuned... things could get interesting... Brief history... I was born in Orlando, Florida... but, I grew up in Vandalia, Ohio... just a few miles north of Dayton. I went to college at Wright State University... changing my major several times... I started out as a Studio Art major, then changed to Classics (you know, all that Greek and Roman art and history stuff), and finally graduated in the Spring of 2001 with a major in Classics and a minor in Art History. Soon after graduation, I headed out west... I lived in the Vail Valley for a while in Colorado, mainly a cool little town called Red Cliff... While I was out there I ran an emboridery machine at a silkscreenin' shop... LOVED that job! I also skiied, traveled, followed music, hung out with friends, and adopted a great dog, Baxter. But, four years later my time in Colorado came to an end... I decided to move to Asheville, North Carolina, where I currently reside. I LOVE it here! I'm closer to home and family (but still not too close). I really like the art scene and all the different people... and of course, the mountains. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT ARTSITS!
